Cannabis has major implications for Oregon as a whole, and for you, as the business owner personally. The innovative processes, complex operations and production requirements can add a high degree of difficulty when attempting to ensure your operations are safe for all involved.
A little about me; I am a local Central Oregonian, being born in Redmond, and raised in Bend, graduating from Mountain View High School in 1980. As a kid growing up, I was “farmed out” to several of my relatives who owned farm and dairy operations over the years: everything from fruit and vegetables to sheep, cattle and pigs. I know about the value of a hard days work. I am a 20 year Air Force Veteran, retired in 2002. I have a B.S. in Industrial Technology (Engineering) and a M.S. in Occupational Safety. Since leaving the Air Force, I have worked for several local companies such as Lance Air, Columbia/Cessna, and PVPowered to name a few.
After working with several people in Solar Energy, I noticed several of them transistioned rather easily to the Cannabis Industry when Oregon legalized it. That began to put a face on the need for Safety in the Industry for me. I want your employees to go home at the end of the day to their families, whole and in one piece, and a great Safety Culture is the only way I know of to do that.
Safety is the perfect profession for me, it is a varied, intense field that combines Human Behaviors, Scientific Methods, Data Analysis, regulatory rule comprehension and practical hands on experiences to properly understand the challenges and to offer up valuable solutions to your particular needs.
